The following presentation shows an electronic race timing system specifically designed for obtaining in-water finish times for paddling events. The system could be deployed for parallel-to-shore finishes in calm conditions in up to 4 metres of water on a gate up to 25 meters wide. It could also be deployed in square-to-shore finishes near the water's over a 15 meter finishing gate using an underwater finishing antenna mat. Results are instantly live-to-net. However, whilst the etime team thought this was a winning idea, the sport of paddling was not so enthusiastic preferring the more conventional land based tag timed finishes or other software and stop clock based methods. Consequently the etime team has abandoned the project and will have no further commercial interest in it. The demo video which you can still see will be left in place in case anybody else feels inspired enough to run with the concept.
